CALCIUM CHLORIDE ON COUNTY ROADS
The following are the rules for the application of dust control.
1) Dust control is allowed from April 15th to October 1st each year. After October 1st the county will grade the road to prep for winter operations.
2) Contact a county approved vendor for application. Vendor must contact the Roads Department to coordinate road preparation for the calcium.
3) Cass County will not grade calcium application until it is deemed necessary for road safety. This decision is based on potholes, ruts and muddy areas.
4) Cass County retains all rights to perform road maintenance as needed at any time.
5) All cost for the application of calcium chloride is at the homeowner's expense.
It is our intent to try and make calcium last as long as possible, but normal time for the product is 60 days. The weather does play into how long the product will last.
